Tea For Getting Better Sleep?

As the days roll on the technology grows and new products which we never imagined in near past seems to be coming into reality because of technology growth life gets a betterment.

Recent days have seen such a technology growth in assuring you a good  night’s sleep. Organic tea, eye masks, musical pillows and light projectors are few to name which help in providing you with a sound night sleep.

Prof Jim Horne, of the sleep research center Lough borough University, has done a review on all the high end sleep betterment products available in the market.

Organic Tea :

This tea contains lavender flower and liquorice root, which are said to calm the mind and reduce the tension.The limeflower in it also calms the nervous system.

It costs around $5 – 6  per box depending on the flavors and the region they are grown in.

Horne Said that, “I am not sure that there can be a large quantities present in this that really can make you sleepy. But Still there can be a  strong physiological effect with something like this.”

Sweet dreams sleep mask:

These come with the ear plugs and are said to block every light entering into it and are pressure less on eyes.

These are only helpful only when there is light coming into your bedroom else there will be no light by the time you sleep. These may come handy when you are trying to sleep during day time. This will be helpful for the people working in shift as they will be sleeping during day time and working during night.

The sound asleep pillow:

These come with the hidden ear plugs which can be plugged into iPods, MP3 Players and radios. These weigh about 15pounds. Since there is no timer you should set a calculated play list or you need to switch it off manually by yourself.

If stress and pressure is preventing you from falling  asleep then listening to calm and soft music may help you to get sleep. If you don’t like the music then these wont be useful and you will be only left with soft pillow.

Much Awaited Phone Nokia E7 Hits The Market

The Much Awaited phone by Nokia, Nokia E7 will hit the market this week.

Earlier the company has delayed the release of the phone which was supposed to be released by December last year, to make sure it sustain the competition by Google and Apple. Its said that the delay was to due to make it more user friendly.

The N8 and E7 are the top  models for the new version of Nokia’s Symbian operating system.

According to the company, the Nokia E7 is already started delivering the handsets and will be soon available in the market in a week or so.

Nokia E7 is expected to have the biggest impact on the company’s sales — more than any other phones that will be sold in 2011.

The phone is expected to be tagged with the price of $800.

The poor performance of the nokia’s operating system and the weak offering of the smart phones Nokia, were the reasons why NOKIA had replaced its CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo with Stephen Elop from Microsoft last September.

Nokia E7 is a symbian 3 handset with full QWERTY and a touch screen.

Nokia E7 has an  aluminum casing and comes with a built-in VPN, 256MB of RAM, 16GB of flash storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB connectivity, GPS, and an 8 megapixel camera with 720p video recording and dual LED flash.

Push E-mail with mail for exchange are few key features of the phone.E7 also has an integrated graphics processor that supports OpenGL 2.0.

Nutrition For Toddlers

The Preschoool age or the age of the toddlerhood is the crucial period in a child’s life. This is the period when the child increases his activity and is exposed to the environment outside the home. It is, therefore, necessary that proper care is taken regarding the toddler’s health. Providing a nutritious and wholesome diet during childhood is of utmost importance.If nutritous food is not given to him, stunned growth will result and malnutrition sets in. Malnutrition in early life affects his development in later life.

For the proper growth of the preschool child, it is necessary that his diet contains cereals, pulses, vegetables,milk oils, meat and eggs in necessary quantities. A cereal pulse mixture like rice and dhal or idli makes a nutritious diet.

Children who do not ear flesh foods and eggs should be given more quantities of dhal and if possible milk.

Exposure to the sunlight is one of the best ways of getting enough vitamin D. Encourage toddlers to play in the sun atleast an hour per day. Preparatuions based ont he shark liver oil are also available in the market. These are also rich in vitamin  D and can be given by those who can afford them.

It is once again emphasized that cleanliness should be maintained in feeding the child. The hands should be washed and feeding utensile cleaned well before feeding the child. This will help avoid infection.

Ardha Padmasana

Ardha Padmasana: Ardha Padmasana is also know as half lotus pose.

  1. Sit on the ground with your legs stretched keeping your hands side of the body and palms on the ground with the fingers pointing forward.
  2. Hold your right foot with your right hand and right ankle with your right hand and move the leg towards your body and place the leg on your left thigh
  3. Similarly place the left leg on the right thigh
  4. Sit erect and place the right and left hands on the right and left knees receptively.
  5. Take deep breathe and leave slowly.
  6. Continue for 10Minutes.
  7. While coming to normal position loosen your hands and stretch out your legs slowly.

This asana is considered to be the preparatory for padmasana therefore this should be performed first.

Yogaasana – Bhujanga Asana

Bhujanga Asana: Bhujanga in Sanskrit means “Cobra” . So the name Bhujanga Asana. It is always practiced first. This gives a greater flexibility for the spine as in this spine is arched backward.

How to do:

  1. Lie straight on your stomach with your palms straight on the floor
  2. Press the ground with your palms raising the body above your waist up with the parts below the waist on the ground.
  3. Inhale and raise the chest above the naval tightening  the legs allover from the waist down to the toes.
  4. Hold your breathe and retain the same position for some 5-6 seconds.
  5. Exhale and slowly lover your head towards ground and lie straight on your stomach.
  6. Practice this for 3-4 times a day.

Benifits from Bhujangasana:

  1. Gives flexibility and rejuvenates the spinal nerves.
  2. Increases blood circulation to the spine.
  3. Helps curing of constipation, indigestion and increases appetite.

Yogaasana- Paschimothan Asana

Paschimothan Asana:

Paschim in Sanskrit mean Back and Than means Stretch . This asana gives you a complete stretch right from the skull to the heels. Though seems to be very difficult to practise in the beginning but eventually gets easier.

Steps To Do:

  1. Sit on the floor. Stretch you legs and heels together keeping the palms on the floor with fingers pointing forward.
  2. Inhale and bend your body forward slowly and try to touch the toes with your hands.
  3. Exhale and bend your head and try to touch your knees with your forehead.
  4. Be in the same position for 5-10seconds.
  5. Inhale and come to the initial position by slowly moving your palms from toes to the ground.

Practice this 5times a day.

This aasana has effect on the spine and complete nervous system. This is has very curative effect for diabetic patients. Good for people with backache and also strengthens the sex glands and abdominal organs.
